Although United States are placed in the group-of-death at the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup, they are considered one of the favorites to retain their title. Meanwhile, Mexico will pose the biggest challenge for USA as the pair have clashed many times in recent history with important titles at stake.

2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup schedule, date, venue, format, & participating teams
Following the draw on Friday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which determined the Group Stage for the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup, the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) is placed in a difficult situation amid internal strife. In order to win a record-tying eighth Gold Cup championship, the USMNT must advance from Group A against opponents like Jamaica, Nicaragua, and another adversary that hasn’t yet qualified for the competition.
In Group B, Mexico will compete against an invited team Qatar as well as Haiti and Honduras. Group C includes Canada, Guatemala, Cuba, & the winner of Preliminary 7, while Group D includes Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, & the winner of Preliminary 8. On Sunday, July 16, the Gold Cup 2023 championship game is slated to take place. The group stage of the competition, which consists of four pools, will take place between June 16 and July 4, the quarterfinals will take place on July 8 and 9, and the semifinals will be held on July 12.
