Elena Xausa died on November 27 at her home in Marostica, Italy at age of 38, know her cause of death

Her illustrations were sought after by top magazines and companies because they were bright and fun, even when they were about things that seemed ordinary.

Elena’s death happened just as she was getting more and more well-known. Her work had been published in The Economist, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, and The Washington Post, and Apple, Nike, and other companies were using it in their ads.

Ms. Xausa’s drawings were known for their simple shapes with bold lines and bright, solid colours. Also for pictures that showed how funny something was. Apple chose her to be one of 21 artists to help promote the opening of its first store in Milan in 2018.

Elena Xausa was born in Verona, Italy, on July 11, 1984. She grew up in Marostica, which is a town north of Venice. Maria (Antonietti) Xausa, her mother, taught English, and Luciano Xausa, her father, ran a hardware store.

Xausa died due to Appendiceal cancer.

Also she went to the Università Iuav di Venezia to study industrial design, but she was more interested in graphic design classes. After going to events put on by her mentor, the graphic designer Giorgio Camuffo, she decided to try drawing.

After Ms. Xausa graduated in 2007, she got a job in graphic design. She made layouts for home decor and spent a year at the Bevilacqua La Masa art foundation in Venice.

Xausa started every job with a rough pencil drawing and drew ideas on any scraps of paper she could find. She was determined to do something good with her diagnosis she started making colourful graphic sculptures and designed a series of ceramics for the high-end design store Villari.

Her First Solo Show

Ms. Xausa’s first solo show, titled “Coming Home,” opened at the Civic Museum of Bassano del Grappa in the Veneto area a year before she passed away. Approximately seventy of her works were included. After that, an auction was held where every item was sold for donation to cancer research.
