What’s The Deal With Victoria 3?

The game’s developer, Paradox, told True Achievements on August 30, 2022, that Victoria 3 would only be available on Steam. It would not be available on the Microsoft Store or Xbox Game Pass for PC.

Victoria 3 was first announced for Game Pass PC, and in some marketing materials, the logo for that service is still shown. On the same day, Commissar Roach, a community ambassador on the Paradox Plaza Forums, also said the following:

“To the Victorians: We’re happy to say that we’ve just reached another important point in the history of Grand Strategy: It can now be pre-ordered. The game is set to come out on October 25, and we hope that you will enjoy the unique experience of national gardening in the troubled 19th century and help your countries get rich.

“When the game comes out, it will only be available on Steam. After talking with our partners, we decided that Victoria 3 won’t be on Game Pass or the Microsoft Store. Epic grand strategy fans on Xbox can now play Crusader Kings III, Stellaris, Shadowrun Trilogy, Hearts of Iron IV, and more of our games with Game Pass.”
