After Tuesday’s series loss, Anthony Edwards was seen picking up and swinging a chair. Two Nuggets employees were reportedly injured and looking to press charges, per @DenverSportsCom.”
The footage, however, follows Edwards rather than the chair’s route. A third-degree misdemeanour assault charge was brought against Edwards for knowingly or recklessly harming another person.
If found guilty, the Timberwolves player may get a fine of up to $1,000 or serve up to 18 months in jail. He’s supposed to show up in court in June.
The Timberwolves released the following statement on Wednesday:
We are aware of the alleged incident regarding Anthony Edwards following Game 5 in Denver and are in the process of gathering more information. We have no further comment at this moment.”

Anthony Edwards had his most prosperous season to date in 2022–2023. The third-year guard was selected as an All-Star for the first time.
He averaged 24.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 45.9% from the field, 36.9% from 3-point range, and 75.6% from the free throw line.
After the regular season, Edwards got even better. Despite the Minnesota Timberwolves being eliminated in five games, he had a strong series.
Averaging 31.6 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 5.2 assists per game, 1.8 steals per game, and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 48.2% from the field, 34.9% from beyond the arc, and 84.6% from the free throw line.
Edwards has cemented his status as a cornerstone of the team, despite the fact that the Timberwolves have significant issues to address this offseason, particularly in respect to the frontcourt pair of Karl Anthony-Towns and Rudy Gobert.
