A tragic incident occurred on St. Peters Road in Springfield Park where an armed gang attacked a family’s Volkswagen Amarok, firing a hail of bullets estimated to be over 50 rounds.
The violent assault resulted in the immediate deaths of the parents, Puff and Jackie, while their daughter was discovered in critical condition and was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, she could not survive the injuries sustained in the attack.
The authorities in KwaZulu-Natal speculated that the motive behind the attack was drug-related, citing the deceased Brandon Kalicharan’s prior inclusion on the watchlist of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI).
