Sheriff Posed As A Minor

As per a affidavit, a Benton County Sheriff’s Office officer assumed the identity of a minor and engaged in conversation with the couple. Following an extended discussion, Coney and Brinley coordinated a meeting scheduled for Monday in Arkansas.

The communication between the couple and the undercover officer transpired through an encrypted application. It is claimed that the suspects conveyed numerous unsettling messages during this exchange.

One such messages reads “I’m into some very f*****-up, sick taboos.”

Affidavit Reveals

According to the affidavit, Coney also told the cop that his wife “likes them young.” Coney claims that his wife told him that she wanted to see him establish a s*xual relationship with children.

Several items were discovered in the couple’s car during the arrest. Two s*xual aids, cellphones, lube, and its receipt were on the list.

Contrary to Coney’s assertions that his spouse had an interest in children, Emily Brinley refuted the accusations. According to her, she never harbored any inclination towards children and simply aimed to fulfill the role of a “good wife” to Benjamin Coney.

The affidavit additionally asserted that she had no intention of engaging in any inappropriate relationships with children and merely sought Coney’s happiness. Benjamin Coney maintained that he had reservations about actually meeting the purported “child.”

She asserted that her actions were in accordance with her husband’s instructions, a sentiment echoed by the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. As per media reports the pair faces charges of internet stalking of a child and conspiracy to commit assault.

Arkansas Fired Benjamin Coney

It’s worth noting that both individuals are currently detained under a $200,000 bond each. Following allegations against the couple, the Arkansas Punishers took decisive action by dismissing their head coach, Benjamin Coney.

Addressing the situation on social media, the team released a statement stating, “We acknowledge the circumstances surrounding Ben Coney and have concluded his tenure with the team. His actions are not condoned or tolerated within our organization.”
