Who Is Stephanie Frappart?

Stephanie Frappart is a well-known French referee. She has been in the news because she recently becomes the first woman to referee a men’s World Cup game. There is no information of if she’s married or not.

She was born on December 14, 1983, in Le Plessis-Bouchard, France. She brought up in Herblay-sur-Seine. She is currently 38 years old and is paid a match fees of 5,000 euros by FIFA as salary for the World Cup.

At the age of 13, Stephanie Frappart started refereeing youth games. When she was 18 years old, she was already refereeing national u19 matches. She started refereeing games in the French third division of men’s football, the Championnat National, in 2011.

She was the first female referee in Ligue 2, the second division of French professional men’s football, in 2014. She officiated at the Canada-hosted FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015. She was chosen to serve as a referee for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France on December 3, 2018.

She refereed the first female UEFA Champions League match on December 2, 2020. She presided over the second leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League match between Chelsea and Atlético Madrid in March 2021.

Later that month, while officiating a match between the Netherlands and Latvia, she made history as the first woman to oversee a FIFA World Cup qualifier. She officiated the 2022 Coupe de France Final on May 7, 2022. She was chosen on May 19, 2022, for the 2022 FIFA World Cup officiating pool.
